National Lumber Company of Baltimore Celebrates 100 Years!
Founded in 1919, company celebrates with open house on Oct. 4.
On Friday, Oct. 4 LMC Dealer National Lumber Company celebrated its 100th Anniversary at its location at 4901 Pulaski Highway in Baltimore with an open house featuring food, music and fun activities for its team, vendors and customers.
National Lumber Company was originally founded in 1919 in Baltimore’s Little Italy Neighborhood by Russian Immigrant Alexander Fruman and sold custom-made window and door sashes. Now in its fifth generation of family ownership, the business has grown into building materials, custom kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, specialty doors and windows, and outdoor materials. It is also in the midst of an exciting renovation to the exterior and indoor facility at its 4901 Pulaski Highway location.
“We’re so honored to have been a cornerstone of the Baltimore building community for so long,” says Principal and 4th generation owner Arnold Fruman in a press release. “We owe our successes and longevity to the communities, contractors and customers that we serve. Our business has evolved into something very special—we are more than just lumber. We are a premier distributor of the industry’s top brands and our kitchen, bath and window showrooms rival any other selections in the region.”
National Lumber Company was honored alongside ten other Baltimore area businesses by the Baltimore Business Journal during the Family Owned Business Awards. The story of the Fruman family was also featured by the Baltimore Heritage organization.
Congratulations to National Lumber Company from your friends at LMC and here’s to another 100 great years!
