For 125 years, Mid-Cape Home Centers, a building materials and home improvement company, has been serving Cape Cod, the Islands, & the South Shore of Massachusetts. From one lumber yard on Cape Cod with just three team members, Mid-Cape Home Centers has grown to six locations providing far more than just lumber and building materials. Mid-Cape offers a variety of services and most of their locations include design showrooms with Kitchen & Bath displays, windows, doors, flooring, and millwork.
While looking ahead to 2020, the year boasted countless celebrations, time spent with longtime friends and family of the company and a great deal of joy and accomplishment. As we all know, however, 2020 has not been permitting of much celebration or togetherness. As this unexpected year comes to a close, Mid-Cape was both honored and uplifted by the recognition for their 125th Anniversary by two building industry leaders.
Last month, SBC Cedar and LMC recognized Mid-Cape’s 125 years in business as well as the company’s unwavering dedication to supporting their customers, partners, and local communities with a variety of philanthropic and outreach efforts.
LMC, the leading Forest Products and Building Materials Buying Group, has been a tremendous partner of Mid-Cape for many years. Mid-Cape President Jack Stevenson gives insight to their LMC partnership, “We choose to partner with LMC as they are the biggest and the best in tying Manufactures and LBM Dealers like Mid-Cape together. Today, LMC has a tag line, 'Building Business Together’ and prior to that it was ‘Billion Dollar Buying Power’. Quite frankly, together they tell the story of why we belong to LMC-- they provide vast educational and networking opportunities for our organization to learn, build and grow from. We STRONGLY support LMC and see great value in what they do, and how they do it.” Mid-Cape is incredibly grateful for the beautiful glass keepsake, engraved in celebration of their 125th anniversary.
As the world’s largest SBC Cedar Shingle dealer, Mid-Cape is also incredibly honored to receive a framed, 36” diameter 100 tooth steel saw blade, or “shingle edger”, from SBC. Engraved to commemorate their 125th year of business and once used to cut shingles for Mid-Cape, this particular sawblade cut approximately 2.5 million shingles in its 1-year lifetime. It was sharpened once/day and now remains preserved forever in its beautiful frame which will reside in Mid-Cape’s brand new Conference Center in South Dennis.
Partnership is close to the heart of Mid-Cape and directly correlates to their mission as a company. As Mr. Stevenson says, “In all aspects of our business, people and relationships are what make things work. We are extremely fortunate to have some of the best partners in the business in SBC and LMC, and treasure those relationships. Here’s to another 125 years of working together!”
