International Women's Day is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8th to "commemorate the cultural, political, and socioeconomic achievements of women."
LMC and the LBM industry are filled with women who make our success possible - last year to the tune of almost $8 billion in purchases ($7.9 billion to be exact). There are currently 74 accomplished women who work for LMC representing 42% of the work force. In total, these women have contributed over 2,600 years of service to LMC with an average tenure of 15 years.
These women have helped LMC and its dealers manage and overcome unprecedented challenges including a global pandemic, supply chain management, and a labor shortage to name a few. Over the last two years, LMC has broken purchasing records in consecutive years and none of this would have been possible without the women of LMC.
To celebrate International Women's Day together, LMC surprised all the employees with a Hershey's "Celebrate SHE" candy bar on their desks this morning upon arrival to the office.
Here's to the women of LMC and all around the world - thank you for all that you do in the workplace and at home.
