Dan Durski joined the Detering Company as Chief Financial Officer on March 31, 2023. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska Dan earned a BA in Economics and Political Science from Creighton University and his MBA from the University of Nebraska. He brings over 14 years of experience in financial and risk management services and manufacturing environments. In his new role as CFO Dan will oversee budgeting and forecasting financial statements for The Detering Company, South Texas Brick & Stone, and other family investments. He will also be responsible for enhancing the compliment of operational analytics and metrics as well as optimizing financial reporting processes. Dan will also assist with planning for organic growth and expansion for new products and geography.
 
Most recently, Dan served as the VP of Finance at Trussway Manufacturing, the market leader in multifamily truss fabrication, which brought him to Houston in 2016.  Dan has built finance teams to support growth in sales and scale operations from $200MM to $500MM, while aligning KPIs to financially based actions. In his most recent role, he instituted a robust hedging strategy and reformulated the Company's risk-based pricing model and instituted a robust hedging strategy, which accounted for more than half of the Company's margins for the last 3 years and expanded the bottom line nearly 10x across the same period, respectively.

Dan is married, and in his free time enjoys golf, traveling, trying new restaurants, and cooking at home.
